Woman stabbed in the stomach in Birmingham

A woman has been left fighting for her life after being stabbed in the stomach in Birmingham.

Police were called to Quarry House Close, in Frankley, Birmingham, on Thursday morning

The woman was discovered with a serious stab injury to her stomach at a house in Quarry House Close, in the Frankley area, at around 11.20am today.

She was rushed to hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

A spokesman from West Midlands Police said: "We have launched an investigation after a woman suffered a serious stab injury at a house in Birmingham this morning [Thursday].

"Ambulance colleagues alerted us to the patient in Quarry House Close, in Frankley, at 11.20am, after she was found with a stomach injury.

"She has been taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

"Efforts are underway to trace the person responsible. House to house enquiries are being carried out and a CCTV trawl commenced."

Anyone who was in Quarry House Close at around 11am on Thursday and saw any suspicious, any signs of disorder, or a man fleeing the scene, is urged to call West Midlands Police on 101, quoting log number 1365 of May 14.
