A West Midlands woman has landed the £1 million jackpot on the National Lottery with her first ever go on the online Instant Win game.

Birmingham has had the most millionaires since the launch of the lottery

The lucky winner was due to be presented with her big cheque at Birmingham Botanical gardens today.

The woman, from Birmingham, will become the 169th lottery millionaire in the Birmingham 'B' postcode area, which was this week revealed as the luckiest place to live in terms of the number of big winners.

The area has also seen 1,277 people pick up prizes of £50,000 or more since the lottery was launched 25 years ago this month.
