Man charged after schoolgirl's death in Birmingham minibus crash

A man has been charged after a schoolgirl died in a minibus crash as she was on a trip to Wolverhampton.

Holly Brown died after a minibus carrying a group from John Taylor High School in Staffordshire collided with a bin lorry in July.

Nicholas Buck has now been charged with causing the 14-year-old's death by dangerous driving.

Holly died after a crash on Kingsbury Road, Castle Vale on July 7.

The teenager, who was a dancer with the English Youth Ballet, was one of a party of pupils and teachers travelling to Wolverhampton Art Gallery and Birmingham's Botanical Gardens when the incident happened.

Buck, 53, of Kingshurst Way, Kingshurst will appear before magistrates in Birmingham tomorrow.

Det Sgt Alan Hands from the Collision Investigation Unit, said: "This was a tragic incident which resulted in the death of a pupil from the John Taylor High School.

"Holly’s family are devastated and specialist officers continue to support them during this extremely difficult time."
