Incidents have been taking place outside Molineux stadium after matches and Compton training ground too. It is understood people have been driving long distances to obtain autographs and sell them.

The club thanked "genuine fans" who "continue to wait patiently" for autographs and photograph opportunities.

Since the pandemic began, Wolves players and staff have been asked to avoid any unnecessary meetings to protect the wellbeing of the squad.

This includes temporarily avoiding "casual fan interaction such as selfies or autographs," said the club.

A club spokesman said: "We are seeing a rise in professional autograph hunters ignoring Covid guidance and congregating around players and their vehicles.

"We ask that everyone respects the rules and we thank the genuine fans who continue to wait patiently for autograph and selfie opportunities."
