All car parks next to parks across Cannock Chase will be locked from tomorrow.

Cannock Chase Council

Following reports of members of the public congregating in council-owned public spaces, the authority has taken to decision to close the gates to car parks at Cannock Park, Cannock Stadium, Hednesford Park, Heath Hayes Park, Elmore Park, Ravenhill Park (Armitage Road only), Hazelslade Nature Reserve and Castle Ring.

Mike Edmonds, head of environment and healthy lifestyles, said: “During this difficult period the car parks will close to discourage car travel to the parks or visiting in groups. All our parks will continue to have pedestrian access to enable our residents to exercise in line with government guidelines.”

All the car parks listed above will be closed until further notice from 4pm tomorrow, March 27.
