The retailer will open just for pensioners from 8am to 8.45am tomorrow.

It has stores in

  • Dunstall Hill, Wolverhampton;

  • Walsall Retail Park, in Reedswood Way;

  • Bescot Retail Park, in Bescot Crescent, Walsall;

  • Oldbury Green Retail Park, Oldbury Ringway;

  • and Linkway Retail Park, in Watling Street, Cannock.

Cannock assistant manager Dan Bailey said the shop has been busier recently than at Christmas time.

He said: "It will hopefully give them time to get around and buy what they need.

"It's a lot more difficult keeping on top of things now, we're incredibly busy.

"All the freezers are empty and the depots were not expecting it.

"Toilet roll comes in and goes straight back out, the same for hand gels and tins.

"Even lines that don't sell as well we're seeing a massive increase.

"It's busier now than at Christmas and it's come completely out of the blue.

"So we are always days behind trying to play catch up.

"We've got to do what we can to help elderly people."
