The second inquest over Jonnie Meek is expected to last five days. from March 30 to April 3, and will take place in Shrewsbury's Shirehall, having originally taken place under the coroner for South Staffordshire, Andrew Haigh.

At the second pre-inquest review yesterday Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin senior coroner John Ellery said more than 10 witnesses are to be called.

The review heard it will focus on two different reports from senior doctors in relation to the cause of death.

Jonnie Meek had a rare congenital disability and died at Stafford Hospital in 2014 two days after his third birthday. An inquest in 2015 found he died of natural causes due to pneumonia.

But his parents dispute the verdict, maintaining their son died from a severe allergic reaction to milk given to him at the hospital.
