Stafford Hospital wards closed due to norovirus

The stroke unit and a ward at Stafford Hospital have been closed to admissions due to an outbreak of the sickness bug norovirus.

There are two patients with confirmed cases and five showing symptoms.

Ward 10, which cares for elderly patients, and the adjacent Acute Stroke Unit are not accepting new patients.

Bosses are advising residents who have recently suffered nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea to stay away.
