Why you should never ask Bob Mortimer to give you a 'special cuddle' - it doesn't end well

Be warned: It'll involve a car boot, deodorant and a banana...

TV's popular Taskmaster gameshow is known for its weird and wacky challenges.

But when funnyman Bob Mortimer was asked to give Alex Horne a 'special cuddle', things got incredibly uncomfortable.

The hit comedy show sees a group of celebrities taking on nonsensical tasks dishes out by evil genius Greg Davies.

And tonight it returns to our screens as season five kicks off on Dave at 9pm, with the first two episodes of the series already available to watch now on UKTV Play.

Joker Bob is one of five comics on the new panels, including Mark Watson, Nish Kumar, Sally Phillips and Aisling Bea.

Previous seasons of Taskmaster have seen comics such as Bake Off's Noel Fielding, stand-up Frank Skinner, Pointless co-host Richard Osman and pub landlord joker Al Murray, doing all sorts of bonkers things.

Think emptying bathtubs without pulling the plug out, making Alex jump in any way you might see fit or cracking rubber ducks off fences.

Greg Davies and Alex Horne are returning with more Taskmaster

This week, Taskmaster supremo Greg spoke ahead of the new series and said there's nothing the stars can do to get ready to the challenges they face on the show.

He laughed: "You can't prepare. The lack of predictability and the fiendishness - is the best word I can come up with - of the tasks delights me.

"There's no repetition and there's no end to the things we can put people through. People throw themselves into this fully and there are no restrictions on the tasks we can set.

"Well we can't get them to injure themselves deliberately, and we're not allowed to hurt animals, so there are some restrictions. No murder, no class A drug use."

And Greg also told how it would be impossible for him to pick his favourite ever contestant.

He added: "I couldn't do it because they're all so good and they all put themselves out there. I mean, I have preferred some people to others but that's personal."

Taskmaster returns to Dave for series five on Wednesday, September 12 at 9pm and is available to watch on UKTV Play now.
