Previous plant fairs at Sugnall Walled Garden have proved popular

Sugnall Walled Garden, between Market Drayton and Eccleshall, will host a spring plant fair on Sunday, April 18, for the first time in almost two years.

Janet Blow from Sugnall Walled Garden said: "This last year our gardens have taken on a new and special importance for wellbeing and health. We’ve all been spending more time in them and this has given us time to create plans for our dream gardens.

"So, it’s great news that plant fairs are coming back as lockdown is lifted in mid-April, with the chance to get out in the open air and visit lots of small independent plant nurseries at a lovely garden venue."

Tickets must be bought in advance, at £1 for entry to the plant fair and the working kitchen garden.

Mrs Blow said: "The event offers the opportunity to visit lots of fabulous independent nurseries with thousands of great plants. They will come laden with flowering bulbs, perennials and shrubs to provide instant colour, alpines, trees, herbs and lots of later flowering plants to get planted now for colour into the summer and beyond.

"The nursery folk are on hand to give honest, straightforward advice on choosing and growing the right plants for your garden."

The plant fair will run from 9am to 4pm.

Parking is free and dogs on leads are welcome.
