IN PICTURES: Three injured in smash near Wolverhampton Grammar School

Three people were treated at the scene of a two-car collision in Wolverhampton after freeing themselves from their cars.

West Midlands ambulance service confirmed that they were called at 9.39am this morning to a crash on Compton Road.

The smash between an Audi A3 and a Vauxhall Astra at the junction with Merridale Lane, has closed the road between Larches Lane and Wolverhampton Grammar School.

Two ambulances and a paramedic support unit were dispatched and were still assessing the three patients at 10.30am on the morning of the incident.

All patients had managed to free themselves from their vehicles prior to the arrival of the emergency services.
