Exotic animal haul stolen from Sedgley church car park
A van with more than 30 exotic animals inside was stolen from a church car park in Sedgley.
Snakes, lizards, birds of prey and meerkats were among the animals taken when the white Sherpa van was taken from St Andrew's church on Bilston Street between 6.30pm and 7.30pm yesterday.
It was found abandoned in the early hours of today more than two miles away in Central Drive in Lower Gornal.
The van belonged to animal welfare group, Natural History Presentations, which tour schools in the Midlands.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "Police were called at 7.55pm to report a van stolen. We will be investigating and anyone with information is urged to call 101."
