Car hits shop on Blackheath High Street

News | Published:

A busy route through a town centre had to be closed after a car hit a shop front and damaged a gas pipe.

Part of Blackheath High Street, the A4100, had to be closed for around an hour after the smash at just after 3pm on Monday.

A male driver hit the front of the Roman Bathroom and Tile Centre and damaged part of its frontage, as well as breaking a gas pipe. It is believed he was trying to park at the time.

The driver was taken to Russells Hall Hospital with minor injuries, and one fire crew from Oldbury fire station made the scene safe.
