Emma Barton, from Upper Gornal, has been using her role as a children’s book organiser to help provide schools with books.

The 37-year-old, who has two children at Cotwall End Primary School in Dudley, said: “We need to get more books on children’s mental health into schools as it’s really hard for them with budgets and the coronavirus pandemic.”

Emma has started a sponsorship campaign to help pay for the book bundles. She said: “We have two sponsorship packages, one for £33 and the other for £38, which sees an extra book added to the pack.”

There have been 10 packs sponsored so far, with businesses in Gornal Village such as Rory’s Hair and Beauty, Best Wishes gift shop, Kennedy’s School of Dance, Flopping Fiddle Sticks Crafts and Himley Fencing all getting involved.
