Codsall Middle School sent a letter to parents on Tuesday saying a pupil has tested positive for Covid-19.

The letter says: "In the last few hours we have been made aware that a pupil in Year 7 has tested positive for Covid-19.

"We are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England.

"This letter is to inform you of the current situation and provide advice on how to support your child.

More Covid-19 coverage:

"Please be reassure that for most people, coronavirus will be a mild illness.

"We have contacted the families of all Year 7 pupils and have advised them to self-isolate.

"Following an in-depth analysis of our mitigation measures in school, the circumstances around the likely contraction of the virus and variety of other relevant information we have been advised that the school can remain open and, providing your child remains well, they can continue to attend school as normal. We will keep this under review."
