Pheasey Park Farm Primary School in Walsall has been awarded the title of a Department for Education (DfE) EdTech Demonstrator School

Pheasey Park Farm Primary School in Walsall is one of 20 schools and colleges across the UK selected by the Government to demonstrate best practice in the use of classroom technology.

As part of the initiative it will target schools and colleges that are most in need of support, including those trying to get to grips with new solutions and devices, as well as those with the most disadvantaged learners

Headteacher Sally Lanni, said: “I was very aware that some technology products can be seen as more of a gimmick than really providing a forceful contribution to learning.

"Our vision was based on teamwork and collaboration; ensuring all the technologies are connected and working together so that in turn, the children and staff can also work together to achieve a powerful learning team.

“We have implemented highly effective technologies that blend with student and teacher devices so the children can work independently in small groups and collaboratively.

"Comparing the before and after, we have all seen huge improvements in both pupil outcomes and attendance. Our technology infrastructure has not only inspired the children to learn but has also had an impact on staff; making their job more efficient and effective.”

All schools within the region will now be able to use Pheasey Park Farm as a source of guidance in boosting their technologies and learning infrastructure.
