Associated Studios, which has trained a string of notable performers including many West End leads, is leading the course along with the university.

The vocational master’s degree offers one year of intensive, full-time practical training in dance, singing and acting.

Founding principal of Associated Studios and West End vocal coach Leontine Hass, said: "We are so proud to be able to offer high-level training, taught by industry professionals, at master’s level from October 2020.

“We are very much looking forward to receiving applications from talented performers with at least five years industry experience who have attained an advanced level of skills even if they do not hold a prior degree.

“I feel very strongly that performers deserve to be rewarded for their incredibly hard work and commitment to their talent and artistry by achieving a recognised qualification, and one that might stand them in good stead for the future.

“Masters students will be eligible for Government student loans, so important in the current climate."

Dr Sarah Browne, head of the School of Performing Arts at the University of Wolverhampton, said: “Associated Studios is highly respected in the musical theatre industry. They have a well-established reputation for delivering practical training of the highest quality which ensures their graduates are fully prepared for a career in musical theatre.

"We are absolutely delighted that we can work in partnership with the team there to deliver training to postgraduate students and look forward to seeing future cohorts perform in the West End and beyond.”

Associated Studios Patron, Lyricist Sir Tim Rice, said: “Associated Studios will prepare you for a competitive but thrilling business and inspire you as a performer. You will be working with brilliant practitioners who have an extraordinary wealth of knowledge.”
