Stourport High School and VI Form, in Minster Road, closed its doors to pupils yesterday after thieves stole the 60 metres of cabling.

The school is not expected to reopen until at least Monday, bosses said yesterday.

A statement on the school website states: “We are sorry to inform our school community that we are unable to reopen until Monday November 12 after a break-in and theft of cabling.

“We have a team of people working around the clock to get us back on track and appreciate your support at this challenging time. Thank you.”

According to posts on the school’s Twitter page, the school has no access to text or emails.
