Seventy per cent of all entries at the Cannock-based independent school Chase Grammar School received A*- B grades and 47 per cent were awarded an A* or A grade, which makes Chase Grammar School one of the highest attaining schools in Staffordshire for A-Levels.

In addition, 86 per cent of day students at the school were accepted into their first-choice university.

Paul Silverwood, Principal at Chase Grammar School, said: “We are proud of our Year 13 students and we would like to congratulate everyone on their fantastic results.

"This success is reflective of all the hard work from students, the devotion and expertise of our teachers and our wonderful, supportive parents.

"In light of these results, our students have already secured places at some of the top universities in the country and we all share their feelings of relief and delight."
