Little Hands Daycare, at Amblecote Christian Centre, in Amblecote, Stourbridge, was given the highest rating possible from Ofsted.

Inspector Jackie Nation said the team works exceptionally well together, teaching is excellent and the children enjoy their play and learning experiences.

Children's behaviour was also described as 'exemplary' and staff are 'excellent role models' who 'listen to the children with genuine interest'.

The nursery looks after 84 children from babies until four years old.

Dale Ramsey, company operations manager, said: "We were all absolutely over the moon with the news. It's something we've always dreamed of getting.

"To actually achieve it is out of this world and nobody's feet seem to have touched the ground yet – it's been a really good experience. We're now looking to maintain our work and try and support the other managers in our other nurseries."

The nursery has been open six years and was previously graded 'good'.

The report continued: "Children's health and physical development are promoted very effectively.

"Children make outstanding progress in their learning and are extremely well prepared for the next stage of their education, including the move on to school."

Rebecca Watson, mother of Aart Watson, who attends the nursery, said: "The nursery is a loving and caring environment."

The Ofsted inspection took place on November 23.
