Man, 18, arrested on suspicion of murder after shooting of father in Wolverhampton

A man has been arrested after a father was shot dead in the All Saints area of Wolverhampton on Saturday, October 25.

Jermaine Smith, aged 30, died after the fatal attack on Lilleshall Crescent in the early hours of the morning.

On Wednesday, October 29, an 18-year-old man from Wolverhampton was arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody for questioning.

West Midlands Police continue to appeal for information, and anyone who has not yet come forward is urged to call 101 or contact them via Live Chat on their website quoting log 50 of 25 October.

A police statement read: "We understand how worrying and frightening these type of incidents are and we are continuing to have extra officers, both armed and unarmed in Wolverhampton.

"We’re focusing on suppression, investigations and community engagement."
