Jomaa Jerrare, from Heath Town, in Wolverhampton, was found in Bridgnorth Road, in Perton, just before 2.30am on August 9, 2021.
Clive O’Connor, from Bridge Street, in Bilston, appeared at Stafford Crown Court on Tuesday charged with murder and pleaded not guilty.
The 57-year-old will stand trial in June. He was remanded in custody.
