Man pleads not guilty to raping girl in Brownhills

A man has pleaded not guilty to the alleged rape of a teenage girl near Walsall.

Wayne Scarratt, 28, also pleaded not guilty to charges of wounding, robbery and assault of a female over 13 when he appeared at Stafford Crown Court on Tuesday.

The case relates to an incident in Pool Lane, Brownhills, on August 7 where a girl was left with multiple injuries.

A trial date was set for January and Scarratt, of Orchid Court, in Malvern, Worcestershire, was remanded in custody.
