Alleged Brierley Hill murderer appears in court

A man has appeared in crown court charged with the murder of a pensioner found dead at a flat in the Black Country.

Barry Johnson, 67, was found collapsed at his home in Dean Court, The Promenade, in Brierley Hill, on August 25.

Jay Lee Gallier, of no fixed address, appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Wednesday charged with the offence.

The case was adjourned until October 1 when the 32-year-old will enter a plea to the charge at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
