It’s alleged that a father who was taking his children to school told some passing children, who were with their mother, to get in his car.

The incident took place in Beacon Avenue, Great Barr, at around 8.30am on Friday.

West Midlands Police said information about this incident had been posted on social media.

Officers have asked people not to share or comment on the information as it will harm the police investigation.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Until the full circumstances are known this is unfair and potentially puts those involved at risk.

"We take all reports of suspicious activity seriously and are investigating fully."
