Police patrols stepped up after teenage girl approached by two men in van

Police are studying CCTV footage and have stepped up patrols after a teenage girl was approached by two men in a van.

Staffordshire Police were called to Meaford Road, in Barlaston, near Stone in Staffordshire, at around 4.40pm on Thursday, April 15.

Officers attended and a 14-year-old girl reported that two men in a white van had approached her. The men left once they spotted the victim's friends were nearby.

The men are described as Romanian, with black hair and were both wearing short sleeved tops and jogging bottoms.

Officers are currently reviewing CCTV footage of the area.

Chief Inspector Giles Parsons, of Stafford Borough Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We have increased patrols in Barlaston and the surrounding areas to reassure the local community and are providing assistance to detectives who are investigating this incident.”

Anyone who has dash cam footage of the area at the time or witnesses any similar suspicious incidents is asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 528 of April 15.
