Stolen car crashes into Black Country bus stop five minutes after being taken

A car crashed into a bus stop in the Black Country five minutes after it was stolen off its owner's drive.

The Ford was stolen from the Beaconview Road area in West Bromwich between 9 and 10pm on Thursday.

But within minutes it had been abandoned after crashing into a car and then a nearby bus stop.

The bus shelter windows were shattered and the windscreen of the stolen vehicle was cracked and the thieves fled the scene.

A teenage boy and a man who were not in the stolen car were treated by paramedics but did not require hospital treatment.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "We're investigating after a black Ford Fiesta was stolen in Beacon View Road, West Bromwich last night (25 March).

"The stolen car crashed into a bus stop a short distance away and the suspects fled the scene.

"The vehicle has been recovered and enquires are ongoing. Anyone with information should get in touch quoting crime number 20SW/85699A/21."

A spokeswoman from West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We were called at 9:53pm last night to reports of a two car RTC on Beaconview Road.

"We sent one ambulance to the scene and treated two patients, a teenage boy and man for minor injuries and they were discharged at the scene."
