Boy, 16, arrested after Pensnett crash leaves two in hospital

A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a car crashed into another in Dudley borough.

Two casualties have been taken to hospital, one of them with potentially serious injuries.

Emergency services were called to Bryce Road, in Pensnett, near to The Dell Stadium, after reports of the collision at around 11.45am on Tuesday.

A 16-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, possession of cannabis and driving whilst unfit through drugs.

The teenager has also been taken to hospital for assessment and will be questioned in due course, a spokesman for the police said.

Patrol car

The vehicle had been spotted by a passing police patrol car before the incident, with the full circumstances of the collision being investigated.

The force's Professional Standards Department has been informed, as is the routine, a spokesman for West Midlands Police added.

Three ambulances and a paramedic officer attended the scene with three occupants from the two cars involved requiring assessment.

A spokesman for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "A teenage boy suffered potentially serious injuries and was treated on scene before being taken to Russells Hall Hospital.

"A second patient was also conveyed to hospital."
