Black Country man to stand trial for murder of baby daughter

The trial of a Black Country man who is accused of murdering his five-month-old daughter is due to begin on Monday.

Philip Peace, of Himley Road, Dudley, has denied murdering Summer Peace in September 2017. He has also denied manslaughter.

Summer was taken to hospital in cardiac arrest on September 8, 2017, where she died the next day.

Following an investigation, Peace was arrested in May of the following year and was charged in April last year.

The 42-year-old is due to stand trial at Birmingham Crown Court next week.
