Trial into Black Country shooting postponed due to Covid

A trial into the shooting of a 23-year-old man in a Walsall barber shop has been postponed due to the coronavirus crisis.

Uzair Shahid, 20, and Toyub Ali, 19, are defendants in the incident which happened at Kats Kuts, in Wolverhampton Road, on May 19, 2019.

The trial was due to begin this week however Shahid, of Lichfield Road, Walsall, is awaiting the results of a Covid-19 test.

It will now begin on February 1.

Shahid is charged with attempted murder, causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Ali, of no fixed address, is charged with possession of a firearm with violent intent.
