Seven women fined £200 each after travelling in limo from Bilston to Sedgley during lockdown

Seven women in the Black Country have each been fined £200 after travelling together in a limo during lockdown.

West Midlands Police stopped the limousine in Bilston on Saturday night, where it was travelling to Sedgley, and found seven women inside – all aged in their 20s, 30s and 40s.

They all claimed to be from the same household, but it soon became clear this was not the case.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Seven woman have been issued with Fixed Penalty Notices after travelling together in a stretched limousine from Bilston to Sedgley in breach of Covid restrictions.

"The vehicle was initially stopped in Bilston, where all seven, aged in their 20s, 30s and 40s, alleged they lived in the same household.

"On alighting the vehicle in Sedgley it became clear to officers this was not the case and the fines were issued."
