Suspected arson attack on vehicles near Cannock

A car and a van were set on fire in Newbury Road, Norton Canes, at around midnight.

Staffordshire Police are investigating it as a suspected arson attack and have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.

Cannock Police said on Twitter: "People living in an area of Norton Canes are being reassured that detectives are investigating a suspected arson last night. Officers were called to Newbury Road by colleagues at Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service at around midnight after a car and a van were set on fire.

"Police remain at the scene this morning [Tuesday] and anyone with any information is asked to contact us. Enquiries – including the assessment of CCTV footage – are underway."
