West Midlands Police officers are appealing for information to trace the stolen dog and reunite her with her owners.

Lyla was stolen from her home in Rowlands Avenue, in the Eastfield area of the city, on Tuesday, October 6.

The thieves forced the front door of the property – and stole the dog between 3pm and 3.30pm. Police say an electric bike and an electric scooter were also stolen during the break-in.

Lyla is described as a brindle-coloured dog with a white patch on her chest and neck.

Officers have released images of Lyla, and two vehicles seen in the area at the time.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We understand a light-coloured Volkswagen, possibly a Golf or a Polo, and a white VW Caddy van were seen in the area and we would like to get in touch with the drivers.

"Anyone who knows where Lyla may be, or has any information about the break-in can contact us."
