Walsall man who stole two cars in Staffordshire jailed

A Black Country man has been jailed for 18 months for stealing two cars in Staffordshire.

Matthew Bickley, 40, pleaded guilty to stealing a Mitsubishi Pajero in Armitage Road, in Rugeley, on December 11 last year.

He also admitted stealing a Ford Fiesta in Queen Street, in Hednesford, on July 26.

Bickley, of Essex Street, in Walsall, also admitted attempting to steal a Ford Focus in Hawthorn Road, in Wheaton Aston, on December 15 last year.

He was sentenced to 18 months at Stafford Crown Court on September 21.

Detective Sergeant Richard Dancey, of Staffordshire Police, said: “We are working hard to tackle vehicle crime and bring offenders before the courts.”

Operation Disrupt is currently running across Staffordshire and focusing on tackling criminal behaviour. Officers have made 77 arrests in the first week.
