The victim, who is believed to be in her 40s, was attacked by another woman on Wheeler Street in Newtown, Birmingham.
The incident, which happened around 9pm on Friday, saw the woman dragged from her car and her head repeatedly hit against railings.
The victim was left with bruising, swelling and grazes on her arm, with the attacker fleeing from the scene.

The incident is the latest in a number on Wheeler Street and in the surrounding area, which has seen several violent incidents, including a spate of gun incidents and a murder.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We were called to an assault on a woman in Wheeler Street, Newtown, at around 9pm yesterday.
"The woman in her 40s is understood to have been dragged from her car by another woman and her head was repeatedly hit against railings.
"She was treated for bruising, swelling and grazes to her arm.
"The attacker fled and enquiries into the circumstances are continuing..
