Two arrested following early morning crash

Two people were arrested following a car collision that left the driver of the other vehicle injured.

Members of West Midlands Police C Team Stechford, in Birmingham, were on patrol during the early hours of today, when they saw crash take place.

The two occupants of the offending vehicle were seen running from the scene, with representatives of West Midlands Police drones, dogs, firearms and response helping to track them.

Two people were eventually caught and arrested for alleged theft offences.

The driver of the other vehicle was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We were called after a suspected stolen vehicle was involved in a collision in Fox Hollies Road, Acocks Green, around 12.50am.

"The Honda Civic is also believed to have been involved in an earlier break-in and the occupants fled after the collision. The female driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries.

"A 29-year-old man was arrested soon after on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and going equipped; while another 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft and possession of drugs.
