Two men to enter pleas in court later this year over Tipton murder

Two men from Tipton charged with murder after a man was assaulted in the town will enter their pleas later this year.

Anthony Bird, known locally as "Goughy", was attacked in Victoria Park at around 11am on July 26.

His condition deteriorated in hospital and he was pronounced dead on August 12.

Steven Bennett, 37, of Bevan Road in Tipton, and Suni Singh Gill, 33, of Shore Road in Tipton, have been charged with the 50-year-old's murder.

Their case was adjourned at a hearing at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Thursday until December 4 – with a potential trial date fixed for February 8.
