Cyclist stabbed in attempted bike robbery

A cyclist was stabbed when a man tried to steal his bike in the West Midlands, police have revealed.

The attack happened when the cyclist was at the junction of Cato Street North and Nechells Place, in Nechells, Birmingham, on August 18.

West Midlands Police has released a photograph of a person they would like to speak to in connection with the shocking incident.

The person is seen wearing what appears to be a blue tracksuit, grey hat, black trainers and a black backpack.

Sandwell Police tweeted: "#APPEAL | We want to speak to this person after a cyclist suffered a stab wound when a man tried to steal his bike in #Nechells at 3.45pm on 18 August at the junction of Cato Street North and Nechells Place."
