Appeal after swan shot in Penkridge

Police are appealing for information after a swan was shot.

Staffordshire Police received reports of a swan that had been found shot in the Penkridge area on Thursday.

A spokesman for the force said: "The dead swan was found next to the River Penk on Friday afternoon, in the Water Eaton area.

"It is believed it was shot overnight between Wednesday and Thursday."

Anyone with information is urged to call Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting log number 559.
