Second brother of Birmingham stabbing victim charged with murder

A second brother of a man fatally stabbed in the West Midlands has been charged with his murder.

David Rogers, 32, of Nora Street, South Shields, has been detained over the murder of Thomas Rogers, 26, in Birmingham.

Thomas's other brother, Samuel Rogers, 30, has also been charged with his murder alongside Ryan Hurt, 22.

Thomas was discovered seriously injured near the junction of Bristol Road and Mill Pool Way, in Bournbrook, before his death on August 22.

David Rogers was detained in the North East on Thursday morning before being transferred to the West Midlands for questioning.

He was remanded into custody to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court today.

Detective inspector Stuart Mobberley, from West Midlands Police's homicide team, said: "This is another significant development in our investigation.

"However, we are still keen to hear from anyone with information as our enquiries around what happened last Saturday continue."
