Man, 44, denies robbing and sexually assaulting girl, 14, on Walsall canal towpath

A 44-year-old man is to stand trial accused of robbing and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl on a canal towpath in Walsall.

William Binsley, of Bloxwich Road South, Willenhall, denied both charges when he appeared in the dock at Wolverhampton Crown Court today.

Binsley allegedly stole some AirPods and a bank card from the victim worth £800 in Green Rock Lane, Bloxwich.

He appeared in the dock wearing a blue T-shirt where he spoke to confirm his name, date of birth, address and enter his pleas.

Binsley was remanded in custody, with a trial date set for April 24.
