Stunning tributes in honour of Reece Cox at scene of brutal killing

A stunning array of flowers and memorials to a gentle giant are continuing to be put up a week after his death.

Family, friends and members of the public looking to pay tribute to Reece Cox have been laying flowers and other memorials up on the railings outside the Clifton pub in Sedgley.

Some tributes have been laid on the ground, while others were tied to the railings

The 24-year-old father of one was brutally killed outside the pub on Saturday, August 15 after it is believed he tried to stop another man being attacked before the assailants turned on him.

Four men have subsequently been arrested and charged with murder and other offences and a fifth charged with violent disorder and actual bodily harm in connection with the incident which has shocked the local community.

Flowers of different types have been laid on the railings next to Ettymore Road and the Bull Ring, along with Wolves scarves and shirts and messages of support for Reece and his family.

Some of those present spoke about the tributes and the group they said were responsible for the attack.

One man, who didn't want to be named, said: "The tributes are really nice and a fitting memorial to someone who didn't need to die so young."

A wide range of colours are on display

Another man, who also didn't want to be named, said: "It's such a shame that all this has happened and I really feel for the family of Reece.

"These tributes are lovely and it doesn't matter who you are, to see the love and respect this man has been given through this is wonderful."

Notes paying tribute to Reece were also left

A fundraising page for Reece's family has reached more than £10,000 and is continuing to rise as a new target of £11,000 has been set.
