Officers rushed to Tividale Park in the borough after receiving calls over a man threatening people with a knife.

A boy was found in possession of a blade at around 12.30pm on Thursday, say police – and allegedly assaulted an officer at the scene.

The boy has since been released on bail, a spokesman for West Midlands Police confirmed.
