A man was stabbed outside a service station in Stone.

Staffordshire Police is investigating after officers were called to Newcastle Road to reports of a 45-year-old man with a knife wound.

He was taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

The suspect is described as white, mid 20s, with an athletic build and clean shaven with light coloured hair. He was wearing a yellow T-shirt and beige shorts.

He is believed to have left the scene in a black VW Bora and returned again around 20 minutes later in a yellow or mustard coloured Seat Ibiza or a Renault Megane.

Officers are keen hear from anyone who was in the area at the time or saw the vehicles. The attack happened on Saturday, August 1 at 1.20am.
