Boy, 13, attacked by gang at Black Country park

A 13-year-old boy was attacked by a gang in a Black Country park where he was punched, kicked and threatened with a knife.

The victim was set upon at Willenhall Memorial Park on Saturday afternoon, where he was left with bruising and a grazed elbow.

He was approached by another boy brandishing a knife before he was assaulted by several others, say West Midlands Police.

The boy was not seriously injured, however the terrifying incident has left him shaken.

The attack took place just before 3.30pm at the park in Pinson Road.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "The 13-year-old boy was approached by a boy who showed him a knife and who then punched and kicked him with along with several others.

"Although shaken, his injuries were fortunately not serious, he sustained bruising and a graze near his elbow."

Officers have asked anyone with information to get contact police and quote crime reference number 20WS/187426Z/20.
