Street sealed off after gunshots fired

A street has been sealed off after gunshots were fired.

Reports came in of gunshots just before 11pm on Wednesdayon Wheeler Street in Lozells, Birmingham.

Police are currently combing the area in a bid to trace the suspects.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Fortunately no one was injured and no damage has been reported to us.

"Our enquiries are ongoing and Wheeler Street has been closed off as forensics experts carry out a search.

"Officers are also patrolling the area and offering reassurance to residents."

It comes after shots were fired at a home in a drive-by shooting in Birmingham. Officers were called to Westminster Road, Handsworth, at about 7pm on Monday after shots were fired at a window from a dark blue or purple SUV.
