Arrests after car crashes into Kidderminster shop after failing to stop for police

Two men armed with a blade have been arrested after failing to stop for police before crashing into a shop in Kidderminster today.

The car failed to stop for officers in Blackwell Street, in the Horsefair area, at around 2.30pm.

It then collided with a shop front. No one was injured in the collision.

The men were also armed with a blade and were in possession of drugs.

Two men were arrested and remain in police custody this evening.

Chief Inspector Ed Hancox, from West Mercia Police, said: "At approximately 2.30pm on Thursday, a vehicle failed to stop for officers prior to colliding with a shop front on Blackwell Street.

“Thankfully nobody was injured in the collision.

“Two men have been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop for officers, dangerous driving, possession of drugs and possession of a bladed article. They currently remain in police custody.

“The road was closed until shortly before 4pm so the road could be safely cleared.”
