Man seriously injured in West Bromwich 'hit and run' crash

A man was taken to hospital with a serious arm injury after an alleged hit-and-run crash in West Bromwich.

The collision involved two cars and happened on Holloway Bank just before 2.30am on Sunday, with one of the drivers involved allegedly fleeing the scene.

The injured man remained in hospital on Sunday afternoon.

A 33-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and a 27-year-old woman was later arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene.

Both suspects were still in police custody on Sunday afternoon.

West Midlands Fire & Rescue Service were also at the scene helping to recover the people involved.

Dramatic images show a red Audi, badly damaged on at the roadside. Another white vehicle also suffered extensive damage.
