Attempted murder arrests after man found with serious head injuries

Two teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was found with serious head injuries.

Two men have also been arrested on suspicion of assault in connection with the investigation.

The 50-year-old victim was discovered by a passer-by in Fred Perry Walk, in Great Bridge, Tipton, in the early hours of Wednesday.

He was taken to hospital with serious head injuries where he remains in a critical condition today.

Two 17-year-old boys have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, while two men, aged 39 and 42, have been arrested on suspicion of assault.

All four remained in custody for questioning on Friday.

Detective Inspector Adam Jobson, from West Midlands Police's homicide team, said: "We need to understand what happened to this man, who is very unwell as a result of the nasty injuries he received earlier this week.

“While these arrests are a significant development in our investigation, I still need anyone who was any information about what happened to get in touch with us as soon as they can.

“If you saw anything suspicious during the early hours of Wednesday morning we need to hear from you.”
