Man stabbed inside car in Wolverhampton street

The air ambulance was called after a man was stabbed in a car in a Wolverhampton street.

The 28-year-old victim was knifed in Kendal Rise on Sunday afternoon.

A spokesman from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 5.05pm yesterday to reports of a stabbing on Kendal Rise.

"One ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.

"On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who was treated for stab wounds, not believed to be life-threatening.

"He was then taken to hospital by land ambulance for further assessment."

West Midlands Police have launched an investigation following the incident.

A police spokeswoman said: "We were alerted to the incident by ambulance colleagues just after 5pm and officers were immediately sent to the scene.

"A 28-year-old man was taken to hospital with ear and neck wounds, but thankfully his injuries are not deemed life-threatening.

"We understand that the attack happened inside a car and the car has been seized for forensic analysis. Several other lines of enquiry are also ongoing."
